BOARD-CERTIFIED DERMATOLOGIST, MOM, AND HIGH ALTITUDE SEEKER

Jenna is a board-certified dermatologist practicing in Colorado, with years of experience in treating and caring for skin, particularly skin cancers. She initially moved to Colorado for her dermatology residency training, during which she picked up snowboarding, rock climbing, and hiking as hobbies.

Over the course of five years, she spent hundreds of hours at high altitudes, summiting all 58 of Colorado’s peaks above 14,000 feet. During these long days on alpine trails, she began considering how to make sun-protective apparel more fun and appealing for everyone, recognizing its superior effectiveness compared to sunscreen alone. However, it wasn’t until 2023, when Jenna started taking her newborn son hiking in the mountains, that she realized the lack of comprehensive sun-protective clothing options for infants. This realization ultimately inspired her to start Alpenshade.
